When did humanity become a commodity
and when did we lose our common sense?
Where is the outrage? Where is the marching in the streets?
Have we grown so complacent sitting on the fence?
Oh and when did our deaths become an even trade for their dividends?
Oh and when did our currency become the blood of men?
Life is not a price to pay, we cannot turn our heads away,
While evil men abuse the innocent
Lest we forget, that our silence is consent.
They’re killing the poor away,
No, not with bullets, but with denied claims,
and they cry it’s business,
but it’s murder just the same.
The senators play their games,
Blood lines their pockets,
and still they have no shame.
And if we say nothing,
Then it’s ourselves we have to blame
Oh and when did our deaths become an even trade for their dividends?
Oh and when did our currency become the blood of men?
Life is not a price to pay, we cannot turn our heads away,
While evil men abuse the innocent
Lest we forget, that our silence is consent.
